Charlottesville Thoughts

You. You are an Esther.

What do you do when the world you have tip toed through now begs for you to stomp loudly?
What do you do when your heart wants quiet but the cries of your neighbor scream to be heard ?
What do you do when you seek safety but peaceful demonstrators are mowed down by evil?
What do you do?

You. You are an Esther.

Break through the cocoon of comfort.
Integrate your dinner table. Make it a refuge for those who have felt beaten down.

Step from behind your computer or iPad or iphone screen and hear voices that don't share the same history. The same stories.
Dare to sit face to face with someone who doesn't speak your same political language.

Stand up.
Pick up your neighbor. The one the others have left dying on the side of the street.
Love them.

You. You are an Esther.
Who knows but that you were put in your position for a time such as this.
You can not be silent.

You. You are an Esther.
